A tour in the sun
AT LAST !!! if the weather forecast is to believed I will be conducting a tour at Trentham Gardens in the sun today and it actually might be warm, talk about decadence.
So far this year I have conducted tours in rain, hail, snow flurries and high winds, today should be a breeze (get the pun !!).
Even thou the weather is not seasonal the gardens are looking stunning and with the sun out today I hope to get some shots which I hope to post later.

Intrepid ladies from Windsor
I have only just dried out from a very wet tour I carried out yesterday for a very hardy bunch of ladies and gent from Windsor. Thank you ladies for your patience and please come back to Trentham Gardens soon, to appreciate the gardens without having to peer from under your umbrella when the wind and the rain allows.
We spent the whole tour running from cover to cover and the group could only just hear my voice over the sound of the wind howling. We started off with 21 in the group and finished with approx 10 intrepid ladies and gent from Windsor who were determined, to not let the weather beat them. A big thank you to this hardy lot.
Booking for Tours are now coming in thick and fast it looks like I may after book my annual holidays around future dates.

Developments to Trentham Hall Terrace
My first post of the year now that spring is here is to update you on developments to the original terrace in the upper flower garden. this area used to front Trentham Hall and provides a wonderful elevated vista of the Italian garden
The plan opposite shows the original terrace which is now being reinstated with new developments to the area that used be the private rooms for the lady of the house. The viewing platform is to be located further back and the area close to the church to be laid to grass.
The garden team have had great fun discovering the original beds to the terrace, discovering lots of interesting shards of pottery during the excavations which is always the norm during any excavations in the gardens, yet it is still quite exciting for the team to unearth items which would have been a part of every day life during those exciting days of the hall and gardens, when they were part of the Sutherlands estate.
The intentions are to plant the original and new beds with similar bedding schemes to the upper flower garden and to at last celebrate another part of the garden which was once in quite a sad and sorry state.
